70 km into a prairie ride, founder Danial S. shook out numb fingers for the hundredth time. The gloves on the market promised “pro gel” and “ultimate comfort,” but the pain always came back.

Danial went home, cut apart six pairs, and started over—mapping nerve pressure points with a $30 kitchen scale and a lot of tape. Two years and 23 prototypes later, Velocity Cycling shipped its first batch of half-finger cycling gloves to a handful of local club riders.
